FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is difference between psychologists and other types of therapists?
Licensed psychologists hold doctoral degrees (PsyD or PhD) advanced training in diagnosis, personalities, relationships and interpersonal dynamics, and long-term emotional change.
While many therapists provide valuable support, high-functioning professionals and other individuals often benefit from private and highly individualized care. Psychologists are prepared to address deeper patterns between stress, anxiety, relationship challenges and life transitions.
How can I make my first appointment?
It is best to email or call/text to make in an initial appointment. All inquiries will get responses within 24 hours. Because a portion of my practice is transitions, openings for first sessions are often available within 1-2 weeks of initial inquiry.
What are your fees?
The rate for a 45-minute session is $255 and for a $340 for a 60-minute session. Sliding fees are reserved for existing or returning clients that are experiencing financial hardship. Referrals will be provided as needed.
Do you accept insurance?
I am a private-pay practice and only associate with insurance providers as an "Out-of-Network" provider. Payment is due at the time of service and, upon request, a Superbill can be provided for clients seeking reimbursement for their out-of-pocket costs from their insurance provider. Please inquire with your insurance company prior to scheduling for clarity on how your policy is written.
What is your availability for sessions?
Appointments are made after determining a mutually convenient time to schedule. A typical weekday schedule is 8am-4:30pm but slight variations may be possible upon request.
What if I live outside of Pennsylvania?
I have the PsyPact Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (PAPIT) and can see clients in all participating states.
Are in person sessions available?
Are you available outside of business hours?
Clients have individualized services which may include access between sessions. Phone calls, texts, and emails are typically returned during business hours.
What if I am in crisis?
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact 911 or call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — available for free, confidential support.
